The Spirit Fest
The Dearborn Heights Spirit Festival is the city's longest-running community celebration, bringing residents together every summer for nearly four decades. Organized by the City of Dearborn Heights Department of Parks and Recreation, the Spirit Festival has grown from a neighborhood tradition into one of the most anticipated events on the city's annual calendar.
Held each June on the grounds of the Canfield Community Center, the festival spans multiple days and welcomes families, seniors, and visitors from across the region. From amusement rides and live entertainment to cultural performances and local food, the Spirit Festival offers something for every generation.
Our Tradition
What began in the late 1980s as a community gathering has endured and expanded because of the people it serves. Each year, the festival opens with the Senior Jubilee, a dedicated celebration honoring Dearborn Heights' older residents with food, entertainment, and fellowship. The Taste of the Heights food festival, now in its fourth decade, showcases the diverse culinary traditions that reflect the rich fabric of our community.
Under the leadership of Mayor Mo Baydoun, the City of Dearborn Heights remains committed to strengthening the bonds that unite our neighborhoods. The Spirit Festival embodies that commitment. It is a space where residents of all backgrounds come together, celebrate shared traditions, and build new memories. Mayor Baydoun and his administration are proud to support this beloved community institution and look forward to welcoming everyone to the festival each year.
